Lexus Racing has announced that it will be competing in the 2014 Japanese Super GT Series with an all-new LF-CC race car.

The LF-CC Super GT car will compete in the Super GT Series GT500 class starting next season and will be replacing the current Lexus SC 430. A two-door coupe concept, the LF-CC debuted at the 2012 Paris Motor Show sporting an aggressive exterior design.

Though the LF-CC hasn’t surfaced as a production model in the Japanese automaker’s lineup, it heavily influenced the design of the 2014 IS. The team has begun performance vehicle shakedown tests at the Suzuka Circuit. It is believed that when the Lexus RC makes its official debut, it’ll be the production variant of the LF-CC concept.
