The Bentley Mulsanne convertible will not be heading to production, the British automaker’s CEO Wolfgang Shreiber has said.

According to Shreiber, the Mulsanne convertible won’t see production because the concept, which was revealed to a private audience, didn’t garner enough demand. Last year, Bentley sold 1,169 Mulsanne vehicles so it wasn’t likely that the Mulsanne convertible would be produced regardless.

Shreiber admitted that though the Mulsanne convertible would have sold well in the U.S. and Europe, there just wasn’t enough demand for a good business case. And considering Bentley is investing heavily into producing its SUV model, it’s no surprise that the Mulsanne convertible has been shelved.
