Mercedes debuted its new S600 in Detroit powered by a turbocharged 6.0-liter V12.

The car is a step above the S550 that debuted for the 2014 model year and ushers in a list of technological improvements to the product line. It features a head-up display, heated windshield and touch pad that can control the car’s infotainment system. Controls are meant to mimic modern smart phones.

The boosted 12-cylinder powerplant makes 523 hp and 612 lb-ft of torque. Mercedes is also packaging its Collision Prevention Assist Plus autonomous braking system with the S600. It is able to apply the brakes without driver input at up to 124 mph and can bring the car to a complete stop at up to 50 mph.

Dealers will begin offering the S600 this spring. Pricing hasn’t been announced yet.
