First Corvette Z06 Nets $1M at Barrett-Jackson Auction
The first production Chevrolet Corvette Z06 has fetched a cool $1 million at the West Palm Beach Barrett-Jackson auction.
Not surprisingly, the winning bidder was Rick Hendrick and the Z06’s auction price matches the same winning bid for the first production Corvette Stingray convertible. The proceeds from the Z06 auction will go to the renovation of the Karmanos Cancer Institute’s infusion center for a more comfortable and soothing setting for patients to receive chemotherapy treatments.

Hendrick himself is a cancer survivor and continues to support charities that do cancer research. He was also the winning bidder on the first production Stingray and Stingray convertible.
