GM Will Repair Recalled Pontiac Vibes

The Pontiac Vibe will be included in the recent massive Toyota recall, with work being done by GM dealerships.

The Pontiac Vibe and the Toyota Matrix share major components, one of which includes the affected cable in to the airbag. According to the American automaker, about 40,500 Vibe vehicles from the 2009-2010 model years will be recalled and GM will service those customers as soon as Toyota supplies the parts.

Earlier, Toyota announced that 1.3 million vehicles will be recalled for a spiral cable that could be damaged by turning the steering wheel. If the cable is damaged, the air bag might not deploy in an accident.
