Cadillac is ending the life of the current CTS-V with a final farewell in the form of a limited production special edition.

Simply known as the CTS-V Coupe Special Edition, only 500 of these cars will be produced for the 2015 model year before the next generation of V-Series models are unveiled next year.

Like all other CTS-V Coupe models, the special edition will consist of Cadillac’s magnetic ride control suspension, Brembo brakes and a supercharged V8 that makes 556 hp and 551 lb-ft of torque. The engine can be paired to a six-speed automatic or six-speed manual transmission.

To separate it from the herd, this special edition car receives an ebony interior with red contrast stitching, Recaro performance seats, metal pedals, wood trim, a microfiber suede-wrapped steering wheel and shift knob, dark-finish V grille, satin graphite wheels and red brake calipers. Options include a sunroof and a choice between a white, black or gray exterior paint job.

“The special edition is a stepping stone to the next-generation V-Series, which will move to the next level with more dynamic design and technical sophistication,” said Uwe Ellinghaus, chief marketing officer for global Cadillac.

Pricing will be announced closer to the cars on-sale date.

If you cannot view the new look cadillac for 2015??,I doubt you can sell many more than the 500 number projection anyway. To even sell leftover cts-v's,a deal must be offered that nearly removes any margin you would normally have.think about it.if some slob wants the V,I think enthusiasm will wane once he discovers his hot car is bye- bye in favor of an ultra new & different cts that will undoubtedly not resemble the entire previous line. Why design anew one if it will look like the old? It won't & will probably look more like a vehicle that might fly & a futuristic look that is a bit shocking may well be the car that cadillac has sought to make sales soar, like many years ago.the new version I think in my mind of is a car with a front ,sides & rear to look like it was sculpted from precious gems- gleaming pointed accents all over mixed with high tech glass & metal that gives it at the very least, the"Star Wars "vehicle look with giant chromium wheels- not black colored that screams ghetto, regardless of the car they are on.usually seen on Hondas, volkswagens,& other small cars of the familiar junk, criminal, combo look.thats what I think! Sincerely,TonyB. Tiger
