Mini has already previewed what we can expect from a new John Cooper Works (JCW) performance model with a concept car, and now the brand is readying the production version.

Spotted testing at the Nürburgring, this mule for the JCW sets itself apart from the regular Mini thanks to additional air intakes in the front fascia along with bigger brakes fit with red calipers. New wheels are also seen on this test mule, though a few parts are absent.

The rear bumper is still stock and there are no side skirts, two elements that will be changed when the production model of the Mini JCW is revealed.

Power is expected to come from the same 2.0-liter four cylinder that powers the BMW 2-Series Active Tourer, which makes 231 hp in that application. Expect the 2015 MINI JCW to accelerate to 60 mph from a standstill in less than six seconds and carry a top speed around 150 mph.
