Chevrolet has announced that the 2015 Tahoe and Suburban SUVs will both be available with the Z71 off-road package.

The company did not divulge specific details on what the package would include for the SUVs, although it is likely the exact same as the Z71 package for the 2014 Silverado.

If that is the case, the upgrades include Monotube Rancho shocks, front tow hooks, a transfer case skid plate, 18- or 20-inch wheels with all-terrain tires, hill descent control, unique interior trim bits and an automatic locking rear differential. To get all of this on the 2014 Silverado, customers have to drop $1,535.

The first Z71 package was offered in 1988, and has always been the most off-road ready truck in GM’s lineup. GM says that feature details and production timing for the 2015 Z71 SUVs will be released in late September.
