With the teaser image you see above, Honda has officially confirmed that the next-generation version of its three-row crossover will be debuting at the 2015 Chicago Auto Show.

Expect the new Pilot to be slightly larger than the current one, but still available with the same 3.5-liter V6 it uses today. The image above shows that Honda is looking to make the Pilot much less boxy and sleeker in terms of exterior appearance.

The company says it’s adding a few other wrinkles to its big crossover including new “standout technologies, versatility and dynamics currently unavailable in the mainstream SUV segment.”

“Honda continues to fortify its light-truck lineup in 2015, this time turning our eye to the fast-growing family SUV segment,” said Jeff Conrad, senior vice president of Honda. “The new Pilot will raise the bar in a segment it helped to create, with more innovation, style, premium features and family utility than ever before.”

The new Pilot was completely designed, developed and manufactured in America, and will be hitting showrooms as early as this summer.

Judging by the daylight-opening shown in this teaser photo the new Pilot might have some pretty swanky styling.

It kind of looks like a giant Honda Accord Crosstour, just without the strange rear end.
