Mitsubishi GC-PHEV Concept Video, First Look

Mitsubishi is using the 2015 Chicago Auto Show to give a glimpse of its future.

The Japanese automaker is showcasing the GC-PHEV concept, a hybrid full-size crossover with styling cues that will influence future Mitsubishi models. Powering the GC-PHEV is a preview of a possible next-generation hybrid powertrain from Mitsubishi, featuring a 3.0-liter supercharged V6 engine mated to an eight-speed transmission and an electric motor for a combined system output of 335 hp.

In concept form, the company has revealed that the GC-PHEV is capable of achieving up to 35 mpg and its electric-only driving range is over 25 miles. The concept is also equipped with all-wheel drive and Mitsubishi says the GC-PHEV is capable of delivering up to 1,500 watts of electricity when the battery and gas tank are full.
