Audi is planning to add a new variant to its A5 lineup.

Speaking to Automotive News during an A4 media event, Audi of America president Scott Keogh confirmed that a new A5 bodystyle will head to the U.S. in the second quarter of 2016, although he didn’t mention Sportback by name. The four-door Audi A5 Sportback is the only A5 variant not offered in the U.S. and would give the German automaker a competitor to the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo.

Recently, spy photographers caught the new Audi A5 Sportback cold weather testing and it will likely be introduced when the new A5 debuts.

The Audi A5 is currently available in the U.S. as a coupe and convertible and the four-door variant will serve as a smaller counterpart to the more upmarket A7.

“I feel confident that there will be another variant of the A5 that will be a real home run,” said Keogh. “There’s one we don’t have.”
