Audi’s new E-Tron Quattro electric crossover has been photographed testing for the first time.

Audi originally previewed the E-Tron Quattro with a concept in 201, and it appears the production version won’t stray very far from the overall shape of the concept. But as expected, its design has been toned down a bit. The German automaker is working hard to get the E-Tron Quattro to market ahead of the Jaguar I-Pace, as the segment for all-electric SUVs start to take shape thanks to the Tesla Model X.

The Audi E-Tron Quattro will reportedly have a range of at least 311 miles (500 kilometers) and is riding on the same platform Porsche is using for the Mission E. Expect it to be powered by three electric motors, with two driving the rear wheels and one powering the front.

The E-Tron Quattro will be followed by the E-Tron Sportback, which is expected to enter production in 2019. The E-Tron Quattro you see here should hit the market sometime next year.
