The 2019 BMW 8 Series coupe has been spied once again, with this latest round of photos showing the new coupe’s production bodywork.

When BMW gets around to actually debuting the production-spec 8 Series, its styling will hardly be a surprise. The vehicle was already previewed after BMW shared photos of its M8 GTE/GTLM racecar, which will contest the 2018 24 Hours of Le Mans next year (among a myriad of other races in WEC and IMSA), and the 8 Series concept also gives us a very good idea of how this new two-door will look. These spy photos reveal the coupe’s production headlights and some other notable features like the production wheels, grille and exhaust tips.

Additionally, these spy photos show the BMW 8 Series in M Performance guise. The automaker has already confirmed more M Performance models are on the way, and you can bet that plan includes the upcoming 8 Series. The M Performance 8 Series is revealed by its larger M wheels, blue M brake calipers and larger brake rotors. We know the prototype is not for the range-topping M8, as that car is set to receive a quad-tip exhaust setup along with a deeper front splitter and more prominent rear diffuser, among other changes.

The 8 Series will likely be powered by one of BMW’s inline-six engines, while the M8 will likely receive the same 600 hp twin-turbocharged 4.4-liter V8 as the new 2018 BMW M5. We’ll have more info following its debut next year, so stay tuned for more details.

Sorry, but it looks like a 2 door Honda Accord on steroids...well, excluding the perennially ugly double kidney grill, of course. I had hoped for more given the very attractive 8 series concept shown on the car show circuit. This car just looks "heavy"...
