Forza 7's Latest Car Pack Has a Very Fitting Sponsor

There’s a long-running joke that the gamer diet consists solely of Doritos and Mountain Dew, and it seems Microsoft is looking to lend that stereotype some credence.

The latest DLC car pack for Forza Motorsport 7 is called the ‘Doritos Car Pack’, which arrives after the ‘Mountain Dew Car Pack’ for Forza Horizon 3. Appropriately, it features some unmistakably American metal like the 707 hp Jeep Grand Cherokee Trackhawk and the 1955 Chevrolet 150. The majority of vehicles are foreign-made, though, with the remaining cars being the 1939 BMW 328, 1926 Bugatti Type 35, 1985 Nissan Safari Diesel and our personal favorite, the 1962 Porsche 804 F1 car.

Gamers’ reactions to this pack seem to be pretty negative, and it’s easy to see why. While this car pack would have been a ton of fun in the open-world of Forza Horizon 3, it makes little sense on the racetracks of Forza Motorsport 7. The only car in this pack we’d have any interest in taking to a place like Road Atlanta or Le Mans is the Porsche 904. We’re not sure what the deal is with adding SUVs to a motorsports game, but perhaps some Forza fans like the extra challenge.

The Forza 7 Doritos Car Pack DLC is available to buy now from the Xbox Store.
