The Morgan Aero GT will mark the end of Aero 8 production at the company’s Pickersleigh Road factory.

Limited to just eight units that are already sold to existing Morgan customers, the British automaker is calling the Aero GT a “gloves off” variant of the Aero 8. Sporting new hand-worked body panels, including wing top louvers and a drastic rear diffuser, the Aero GT focuses on reducing drag while significantly increasing downforce. The company says the Aero GT was originally conceived during development of the 2015 Morgan Aero 8, but it never saw the light of day. But next year at the 2018 Geneva Motor Show, the Aero GT will finally make its debut ahead of all eight units being delivered.

Each already sold unit will be tailored to each owner and the individually-numbered cars will each leave the factory with bespoke additions requested by the customer. Powering the Aero GT is a 4.8-liter BMW V8 engine with 367 horsepower, paired to a six-speed manual gearbox. That allows for a zero-to-62 mph (0-100 km/h) time of 4.5 seconds, on its way to a top speed of 170 mph (274 km/h).

“One of our greatest strengths as a brand is our ability to be responsive and create a hand-built car which is truly bespoke to each customer,” said Steve Morris, managing director of Morgan Motor Company. “I am a proud owner of an Aero 8 myself; it has been a stalwart of the brand and offers an exceptional driving experience, that only gets better in Aero GT guise.”
