Elon Musk to Twitter: Call Me…Maybe

It doesn’t matter if you’re launching rockets into space or developing electric cars, mistakes still happen on social media.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk accidentally tweeted his cell phone number last night on Twitter, in a message that was meant to be privately sent to John Carmack. Carmack is the chief technology officer at Oculus, Facebook’s virtual reality division. With nearly 17-million followers, it’s little surprise some people caught Musk’s phone number getting tweeted publicly, even though he quickly deleted the tweet.

Naturally some people gave the phone number a call, which unsurprisingly, went to voicemail. Funny enough, Musk’s voicemail recording comes from a PlayStation video game, God of War, and says “By the Gods you’ve done it. Somehow you’ve found your way here to me. I offer you my congratulations and my respect.”

Too bad this time the “somehow” was an accident straight from Musk himself.
