Faster, Sharper 2019 Lexus RC F GT Spied Testing
A prototype for what’s believed to be the 2019 Lexus RC F GT has been spied undergoing tests in Germany.
The Lexus RC F GT was previewed by Lexus RC F G Concept that debuted back in 2016. That car featured some racing-inspired aerodynamic parts, such as a front splitter and rear wing, and was 800 lbs lighter than the road-going model thanks to a stripped out interior and the extensive use of carbon fiber.

The production version of the RC F GT will be quite similar in ethos to the concept, but not as extreme. As you can tell by this prototype, the road car will feature a small rear wing, a carbon fiber hood, lightweight alloy wheels and slightly revised front and rear fascias.
Under the hood will be Lexus’ 5.0-liter V8, which may receive a mild power bump over the standard RC F, which makes 467 hp. The engine will be paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission sending power to the rear wheels. Other performance enhancements should be on the cards as well, such as retuned suspension and more powerful brakes.
Look for the 2019 Lexus RC F GT to debut sometime later this year or in early 2019.
