Traditionally Lexus and Toyota have followed a different path when it comes to implementing hybrid technology into their cars, but that’s about to change.

Trust Mugen to build the CR-Z that Honda fans have been calling for. Revealed ahead of its debut at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, the team at Mugen Euro has bolted on a supercharger to the car’s 1.5-liter engine while retaining the factory Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) hybrid system to produce 200-hp and 181 lb-ft of torque. That’s up significantly from the 122-hp and 128 lb-ft of torque in the stock car.

Honda’ s recent airbag recall in North America is a growing problem for the auto maker. The recall, which affect 2001 to 2003 model Honda and Acura vehicles, is related to a faulty airbag module that might have been replaced by a defected service part, when the original driver’s airbag was changed.

A design sketch of what is rumored to be the logo for the upcoming Toyota FT-86 has surfaced online, clearly highlighting the Japanese sports car will be powered by a boxer engine.
