The Cadillac CTS sedan now comes standard with Vehicle-to-Vehicle (V2V) communications.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) is proposing a new rule that will make vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) communication technology mandatory on light vehicles and it could be in place by 2020. 

The U.S. government is expediting rules that will make car-to-car communication mandatory. 

In about two years, certain Cadillac models will communicate with one another and starting in 2017, some will be capable of semi-autonomous driving.

It won’t be long before cars can communicate with each other, relaying real-time safety information to reduce accidents and save lives.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) said today that it will start taking steps toward bringing vehicle-to-vehicle communication to reality for light vehicles. 

Vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) promises safer roads and a group of undergraduate students will have the chance this year to test their minds at creating innovative ways to use the technology.
