We’ve already seen numerous spy photos of the 2011 Volkswagen Jetta and now we’ll get a chance to see the finished product next week. Volkswagen has posted a countdown on its U.S. webpage with the official reveal set for 11:25 a.m. on June 15th.

Inspired by the New Compact Coupe (unveiled at this year’s Detroit Auto Show), the new Jetta hasn’t drawn much praise for the bland stylings we’ve seen on the test cars, but VW’s new corporate fascia with some sleek chrome trim should help improve that. But then again, look at the success Toyota has had in the segment with the less-than inspired Corolla.

What VW is banking on with the new Jetta is a larger overall car that will appeal more to American buyers. It will also be significantly cheaper than the current model, with rumors suggesting a $14,950 base price – significantly less than the $17,735 entry price for a current Jetta model. Cost cutting measures hopefully won’t have cheapened the Jetta’s interior and we don’t expect that to be the case, with other cost-cutting the result of opting for a less-sophisticated torsion beam rear suspension (on North American models).
