BMW 1 Series M Coupe Will Be Exclusive With Just 2,700 Units Being Made
News of the limited production numbers have just leaked online along with a few other details about the car. For starters it will be a true enthusiasts car with only a manual transmission offered. And just three colors will be offered: Alpine White, Jet Black and Valencia Orange Metallic.
While other details about the car have yet to be confirmed its believed to mimic the M3’s aerodynamics, but with even more aggressive and angled sheetmetal. The front bumper will mimic that of the E92 M3 but with sharper angles, while the fender vents are larger than on previous M cars, helping to accentuate the flared fenders. The side skirts are also similar to those found on the M3, but again are more angular. Also of note is a slightly raised hood, black (Shadowline) kidney grille slats and a ducktail rear spoiler.
As for the engine, BMW is still mum on that aspect, but its believed to be a modified N54 turbocharged inline-six making around 350-hp.
We’ll get all the details when the car debuts at the Detroit Auto Show in January.
