Despite reports to the contrary, a future RS4 model from Audi is reportedly still on track. The high-performance version of the sports sedan has reportedly been re-confirmed by Autovisie Magazine, and we should see it within two years.

What isn’t known is what engine the car will use. Audi isn’t likely to use its 4.2-liter V8, which powered the previous RS4 and is still used in a more potent form in the current S5 and R8 models.

Instead, expect a turbocharged V8 engine that is likely to find its way under the hood of a host of other Audi performance models, including an RS6 and even a possible RS7.
