2012 Dodge Charger Super Bee: LA Auto Show Preview
It was a logical step. With a revitalized Charger SRT-8 out of the gate it was only a matter of time before Dodge unveiled a limited run Super Bee based on it.
Much as the last iteration back in ‘09, when only 425 copies were sold, this one takes all the goodies from the SRT-8, namely the aggressive styling, big wheels, monster brakes, suspension and thumping 470 horsepower 392 cubic inch Hemi V8 (that’s 6.4-liters to you of metric persuasion) and gives it a signature look outside and in.
The 2012 version, which will be officially unveiled at the LA Auto Show next week, comes in a choice of two colors, striking Stinger Yellow or menacing Pitch Black, with a unique three-dimensional Super Bee emblem on the front grille, plus prominent stripes on the hood and rear decklid. These are finished in satin black with a white center section on yellow cars, in charcoal on black ones. The rear spoiler is finished in matte black on the yellow Super Bee and body color on the black one.
There’s also 392 Hemi emblems on the front fenders and customary Super Bee logos on the rear ones, just like the 07-09 cars and of course the 1968-71 originals.
Inside, the 2012 Super Bee features the SRT steering wheel and seats, but the latter are finished in a unique Z-strip cloth with yellow and silver striping as well as embroidered Super Bee logos on each of the front seat headrests. Another neat touch is a Super Bee logo which appears in the instrument panel when the ignition is started.
Other features include specially finished 20 x 9 inch alloy wheels with black painted spoke inserts and Goodyear F1 supercar tires, though Goodyear all-season RS-A2s are available in lieu of the F1s.
Dodge says the new Super Bee will be available for ordering through dealerships in December, with cars arriving in showrooms during the first quarter of next year. Although pricing has yet to be announced, expect in the region of $40,000 and oh, if you plan on getting one, better make sure you join the waiting list pronto, for although production will be higher than the ‘09 version, it’ll still be limited to just 1000 units.

is dodge going offer a b5 blue charger superbee? is dodge ever going to use plymouth name badges such as gtx,cuda,duster,sport satalite.i have 2010 srt challenger and 2011 rt charger love both cars,but head rest on both cars do not tilt. i think it be greatif they did.the charger is our everyday driver and it is the most compelete car we hve ever owned.you have horse power when you want it and its a family car.
