Before the Toyota GT 86 was even officially revealed, the new sports car was out on the track competing. This particular car, on display for the first time at the Tokyo Auto Salon, was raced at the grueling Nurburgring 24 Hour Race in the Fall.
A mildly modified version of the factory car, it sports the obvious race goodies like a roll cage, while other upgrades include some lighter wheels with stickier tires, some tiny carbon fiber mirrors and an aero kit complete with a big rear spoiler – something we’d really like Toyota to offer as a factory or dealer option.

Great to see the best car manufacturer in the world build a car for the people who like to drive cars with character not cars for the twinset and pearls and the cardigan brigade .By the way Iwas at Mansfield in Victoria Aust. and took some great photo's ot the in all its cammo paint etc but they had forgotten to remove the toyota disc's in the centre of the wheels .Having had 5 hilux's 2 toyota crown's and 2 lexus i could be a bit biased .Keep up the good work just hay a TURBO off the side of the FT86 cheers Grahame
