2012 Ford Fiesta: Fiesta features a 120 hp 1.6-lter four-cylinder engine that delivers up to 40 highway miles per gallon. (6/20/2011)

In an effort to unify its branding, Ford is now calling the existing top of the line Fiesta SEL/SES (one for the sedan, one for the hatch) the Platinum edition.

All of the features of the SEL/SES trim level carry over into the new car, with the only new additions to the Platinum trim being heated leather seats, push bottun start and passive entry. Other standard features that carry over from the previous high-end models are Sirius satellite radio, 16-inch wheels, and the companies SYNC infotainment system.

The Fiesta starts at $13,200, and can be dressed all the way up $18,200 for the Platinum trim.

For continuity sake, the Platinum trim is being spread throughout Ford’s lineup, much like General Motors did with Denali, to give the trim package itself a level of recognition, seperate from the car it is accompanying.
