Noticeably missing from the 2013 RAM 1500 lineup is the Tradesman HD model, and chances are it won’t be returning anytime soon, if ever.

The 1500 Tradesman HD looked like a 1500 but sported the suspension and chassis parts from a RAM 2500 HD. The goal was to offer half-ton buyers a stronger option, and RAM was one of the first major truck makers to do so with the 1500 Tradesman HD. But with the new half-ton models going into production next year, and the RAM HD models getting a redesign for their next-generation, building the 1500 Tradesman HD is probably not very high priority.

The 1500 Tradesman HD featured a 5.7-liter HEMI V8 under the hood with 383-hp and sported an eight-foot box. Its towing capacity was almost 4,000 lbs more than the non-HD model.
