As the smallest crossover offered by the brand yet, BMW will begin the X1’s American life by offering it in a special edition: the “Powder Ride” edition.

Said to be a celebration of winter sports and the challenging driving that often accompanies them, the special edition small crossover comes marked up with decals and special trim. That might appeal to some, but it’s hard not to look at the car like an expensive rolling billboard.

Still, those interested will get a vehicle equipped from the dealer with aluminum roof rack rails, all-weather floor mats, a ski and snowboard bag and a set of K2 LTD Powder Ride skis. You’ll also get special 18-inch alloy wheels, interior trim strips made of dark copper and more.

BMW also announced a new concept (seen on the right) that gets an even more extreme set of touch-ups under the same vein: the Concept K2 Powder Ride. It also gets a roof rack, but this version also gets speakers so the whole parking lot knows your music taste. The concept also gets an unhealthy dose of K2-inspired graphics, a little extra ground clearance and special 19-inch wheels.
