Wearing a body kit, matter paint and riding on special 20-inch alloys, the Chevrolet Malibu Turbo Performance concept joined the other imaginative features in the Chevrolet booth at this year’s SEMA Show.

It features a 2.0-liter turbocharged engine that makes 259 hp and reaches 60 mph in a lukewarm 6.3 seconds, especially when you realize the Honda Accord coupe will reach the same speed in 5.5 seconds. It also boasts a 155-mpg top speed which, for better or worse, makes it the fastest Malibu Chevrolet has ever built.

Chevrolet also include a HiPer Strut front suspension and rear springs while six-piston calipers in the front and two-piece, cross-drilled rotors for extra stopping power.

But even if the car isn’t as fast as you might hope, at least it’s got meaner looks that make it look more aggressive than it actually is. In fact, the car looks downright mean in a dark matte blue with its wheels, spoiler and red fog lamp bezels. The concept also includes a ground effects package, front splitter, rear diffuser and unique “turbo” badges on the sides.

The interior is upholstered in black leather with a navy blue suede-wrapped, flat bottom steering wheel with matching accents on the door and instrument panels.
