As expected, the 2014 Kia Forte sedan will be making its North American debut at the 2012 LA Auto Show later this week.

The new sedan was launched earlier this year in Korea as the K3 sporting a longer, wider, and lower body than its predecessor. The wheelbase has also been lengthened by around 2 inches to enhance passenger and interior space.

The car is expected to use the same 1.8-iter -cylinder 4-cylinder found in its sister car, the Hyundai Elantra, though its likely to get improvements, especially after both automakers recently downgraded their official fuel economy figures.

The Korean automaker will undoubtedly release details on engine, transmission, and model trim options once it makes its official debut at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show. Stay tuned to AutoGuide.com for more details once the vehicle is officially unveiled.
