Fiat will be introducing a 500L Trekking model at the 2012 Los Angeles Auto Show, adding a soft-roader variant to its model lineup.

Based off the long-wheelbase 500L, the Trekking model will feature a raised ride height, different body moldings, and a larger grille. The 500L is expected to go on sale in America next year and will rival the MINI Countryman.

Still, the Italian automaker has no immediate plans to offer the Trekking with all-wheel drive, but rumor has it that its traction control will be modified to perform better in wet conditions.

AutoGuide will have more details when the 500L Trekking makes its debut at the 2012 LA Auto Show.
