Lamborghini will celebrate its 50th anniversary next year the best way it knows how, with a very special car.

Part of the exotic Italian automaker’s Grande Giro Lamborghini celebration in May, where owners from around the world will be shipping their cars to Milan to take part in celebrations, the car is expected to be a one-off.

Speaking to Automotive News at the LA Auto Show, Lambo CEO Stephan Winkelmann said the new model will celebrate the anniversary – something Lamborghini has done in the past, most recently with a 40th anniversary edition Murcielago. He gave few other details, except to say that, “It will not be a revival or retro.”

While it’s possible that a very special 50th anniversary Gallardo is in order, as a send-off to the most successful model in the automaker’s history, Lamborghini did announce earlier this year the establishment of a new facility that will concentrate on specialty models like the Aventador J (above) and Sesto Elemento.
