Reports of a car slotting between the Porsche 911 and 918 have been swirling for quite a while and now the automaker has registered a new name it the German patent office.

It’s a curious revelation, though, because the name isn’t what you might expect — at least not from a numbers perspective. That’s because Porsche registered “919.” Of course, that doesn’t necessarily mean anything. After all, automakers often register names without plans to actually use the name.
