The luxurious Mercedes-Benz S-Class will be all-new for 2015 and in the process gain a coupe version.

Formerly known as the CL-Class, the new S-Class Coupe is sure to be a looker, and we can spot that fact in these spy photos, even if it’s heavily camouflaged. Some of the more interesting design elements are happening near the rear end of the car, with a tail-light and bumper design that takes a nod from the new compact CLA-Class.

The front end design doesn’t look radically different from what is currently seen on the current CL-Class, but it is a pretty big departure from the usually reserved S-Class styling. It will be interesting to see how Mercedes-Benz integrates the two car lines into one unified name.

Expect a base model S550 to use a twin-turbo 4.6L V8, making over 400 hp. AMG variants are expected as well with either S63 and S65 name tags.

This new S-Class Coupe is likely to be introduced after the new sedan, which is expected at the Frankfurt Motor Show next Fall. Expect an official reveal of the S-Class Coupe around this time next year, at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
