Toyota FJ Cruiser Recalled for Seatbelt Problems

Toyota just announced a recall for roughly 209,000 FJ Cruisers to fix a problem with the seat belt retractor.

Model year 2007 through 2013 FJ Cruisers have issues with cracks in the access door panel which develop over time after the door is repeatedly closed. If the cracks occur in the panel around the lower retractor anchor, the seatbelt retractor can become completely detached, greatly increasing the risk of an injury in a collision.

Toyota is still developing a remedy to the issue, and has not yet announced when the recall will begin. For more info, owners may contact Toyota at (800) 331-4331.
