Open-air cars are a lot of fun unless that exposure comes as a surprise.

Panoramic glass roofs installed on certain Mitsubishi Outlander Sports from the 2011 model year could detach from the car, prompting the automaker to issue a recall campaign. According to National Highway Traffic Safety Administration documents, the campaign affects 3,181 units.

A primer may not have been used while the glass was being installed. That can cause reduced adhesion and the possibility that the glass could come off while driving.

Mitsubishi will contact owners and ask them to being affected vehicles in for inspection at a dealer. Panels installed without primer will need to be reinstalled. Owners with more questions can contact Mitsubishi at (888) 648-7820.
