Extreme Bugatti Veyron in the Works

Bugatti isn’t one to sit idle and be content with the success of its supercar; rumor has it the French automaker is considering a Veyron variant with over 1,500 hp.

There’s plenty of adjectives that could be used for this extreme Veyron, which is expected to be launched early next year as a final version of the sports car. An insider recently admitted to Autocar that Bugatti is simply calling this Veyron “a fantasy in terms of its performance,” if it gets the green light.

Bugatti is confident that its Veyron will sell out, and only after that will it address an extreme variant and make sure it’s worth it to produce. Regardless, Bugatti will employ several weight-saving technologies to save over 440 pounds compared to the current Super Sport. Currently, the Super Sport has 1,184 hp, so 1,500 would be a phenomenal increase.

But a dream car would have to come with a price, and it wouldn’t be surprised if the rare and extreme Veyron model comes in at over $7.5 million.
