2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class Long Wheelbase Spied

No, this isn’t the Maybach replacement that’s been making the news blog rounds recently.

Instead, this is an extended version of the newly unveiled 2014 Mercedes-Benz S-Class that will sit between the regular model and the ultra-luxury Pullman model. A Mercedes spokesman declined to comment on the photos, but rumor has it that the Pullman, which will act as a market replacement for Daimler’s now-dead Maybach brand, will use a “2+2+2” seat configuration.

The car pictured here offers even more rear leg room than the already barge-like S-Class, but it doesn’t look like enough for an extra row of executive lounge chairs.

This car, along with the top of the range Pullman model, may launch at the 2013 Franfurt Motor Show.
