This past weekend, the final 2014 Ford Shelby GT500 convertible was sold at a Barrett-Jackson auction for $500,000 with the proceeds benefiting the Brain Injury Association of America.

The convertible sports car was donated by the American automaker for charity, with Parnelli Jones, winner of the 1963 Indianapolis 500, supporting the auction. Jones was there on behalf of the BIAA with his son Page, who suffered a brain injury in a 1994 Sprint Car crash.
