The Chevrolet Corvette Stingray is undergoing testing in Europe prior to going on sale, and it appears that the American automaker made a stop at the Nürburgring with its newest sports car.

Releasing a couple of photos as teasers, the new Corvette Stingray gets plenty of air at the world-famous track. Unfortunately, we haven’t a clue what sort of lap time it turned in.

What Chevy is making clear is that it’s putting its Corvette Stingray through all the paces and fine tuning it for the European market. Undoubtedly the Corvette Stingray turned in some fast laps, but we’re going to have to wait a bit longer until official word comes on what those times were.

“Nürburgring is renowned for its demanding race track and it is perfectly suited for our purpose, which is to fine-tune the ride and handling characteristics of the European Corvette Stingray,” said Jim Mero, vehicle dynamics engineer at GM. “We are paying particular attention to the suspension set-up and the steering at Nürburgring. European roads are quite distinct and different from those in the U.S., and so are driving habits.”
