European Car of the Year Shortlist Announced

The European Car of the Year shortlist has been announced with seven vehicles vying for the top title in Europe.

Vehicles on the shortlist include the Mazda3, which AutoGuide recently named its 2014 Car of the Year. Joining the Mazda3 are vehicles that were on an initial list of 32 nominees and the jury, which consists of representatives from 23 countries, will make the selection.

That shortlist now includes the BMW i3, Citroen C4 Picasso, Mercedes-Benz S-Class, Peugeot 308, Skoda Octavia and Tesla Model S. The overall winner will be announced at the 2014 Geneva Motor Show and the models remaining will be subjected to an intensive test drive by the jury in order to decide the winner.
