Toyota USA has announced a recall that affects Avalon sedans from the 2003 and 2004 model year, over problems with the airbags.

In about 119,000 Avalons, certain circuits may be susceptible to damage if exposed to electrical noise from other electrical components. Due to this, the front airbags and/or the seat belt pre-tensioners could inadvertently deploy.

Owners will be contacted by Toyota, and dealers will add an electrical noise filter to the airbag control module to remedy the issue.
