Could BMW and Lexus be collaborating on a new supercar? It might be more than just a rumor.

For the second time in the past several months, Japanese buff book Best Car has dedicated its front page to just such a story, and this time they’ve released a new rendering (above).

Perhaps this rumor is tied up in a proposed new sports car joint-project between BMW and Toyota, which is believed to result in the production version of the FT-1 as well as a BMW variant.

It does seem unlikely that such a halo model would be a shared product between the two brands, though perhaps the car could be the production version of the LF-LC concept.

Past rumors have indicated that Lexus is also planning its own LFA II, which could cost twice as much as the original’s already steep $375,000 asking price.
