Ford is recalling 3,976 of its largest pickup trucks for problems with the transmission.

The issue affects 2015 F-250, F-350, F-450 and F-550 trucks, equipped with either a 6.2-liter gas or 6.7-liter diesel engines along with a 6R140 transmission. Ford says that a software error can cause the transmission to engage reverse for about 1.5 seconds while the driver is shifting between park and drive.

Ford says no injuries or accidents have been caused by this issue. Ford will notify owners by mail and dealers will update the software free of charge.
