Ford's Head of Digital Communications Leaves Company
The man behind Ford‘s successful social media efforts has left the company.
Scott Monty, Ford’s manager of global digital and multimedia communications, has left Ford after nearly six years of serving as a strategic adviser on all social media activity. Monty was responsible for a wide variety of tasks, from blogger relations to marketing support, customer service and internal communications. Once ranked by Forbes magazine as one of the top 10 influencers of social media, Monty was once called a “visionary” by Ford CEO Alan Mulally.

Some of Monty’s highly successful programs that generated plenty of buzz on models before their launch include the Fiesta Movement, Escape Routes and Random Acts of Fusion. When the American automaker introduced the new Fiesta a few years ago, Monty’s Fiesta Movement recruited 100 so-called social influencers to help build awareness on the upcoming model. Ford gave the participants a new Fiesta for a year, so that they could create digital content about the car.
