Rivian R2 Leaks Suggest $47K Starting Price

As reported by CarBuzz, a Twitter (X, if you must) user, Chris Hilbert, has discovered specs for the upcoming Rivian R2 buried in the Rivian website’s HTML code. While Rivian has since altered the site to prevent users from continuing to view the specs themselves, the cat is absolutely out of the bag. If the source code is to be believed, it shows a smaller Rivian SUV with a starting price of $47,500 and a range of up to 330 miles.

It’s unlikely these figures will coincide, however. Rivian’s two current models reserve the highest range figures for higher-tier battery packs, and we’d be surprised if the memo suddenly changed for the brand’s new model. Presumably, this also applies to the R2’s claimed 0-60 time, which the leaks say is around three seconds. As predicted, the SUV will also seat five.

The R2 will be smaller than previous Rivians and should measure around 15 inches shorter- 185.6 inches long, 75 inches wide, and 66.9 inches tall. For reference, a Toyota RAV4 measures around 180 inches long, 73 inches wide, and 70 inches tall. Approach and departure angles were listed as well, at 25 and 27 degrees, respectively. Rivian’s R2 will likely be arriving for the 2026 model year, though we’ll find out tomorrow for sure.
