Acura is calling back 14,708 ILX models over an issue with the headlights.

The company says that when the vehicle has been parked for “an extremely long time” with the engine and low-beam headlights running, excessive heat can build up in the light housing and cause the plastic components to melt which can lead to a fire. ILX models from the 2013 and 2014 model year are affected.

One fire has been reported as a result of this issue. In that case, the car had been parked with the engine idling for several hours.

Acrua will notify affected customers by mail starting in late July.
