Cadillac is getting ready to reveal the latest iteration of the CTS-V at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show.

The new car will mark the pinnacle of performance for the Cadillac lineup, sitting above the recently revealed ATS-V. Details on the car are still relatively sparse, although a recent set of spy photos showing the CTS-V testing offered us some hints.

In the photos, it appears that a pair of intercoolers are fitted behind the front grille of the car, suggesting that it will be turbocharged and not supercharged like the previous CTS-V. One powerplant possibility is the twin-turbo 4.5-liter V8 that was revealed in the Elmiraj concept. Whatever the engine, the car needs to make at least 550 hp to compete with its German rivals, the BMW M5 and Mercedes E63 AMG.
