Rumor has it the new Mercedes C-Class coupe will bow at next year’s Frankfurt Motor Show.

Expect the C-Class coupe to be heavily inspired by the styling of the new S-Class coupe, which means it will probably be longer, wider and sit lower than the C-Class sedan despite being built on the same platform. The German automaker will likely share powerplants across the entire C-Class range which means in the U.S. buyers will have an option of either a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder or a 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6.

As with the majority of Mercedes models currently being offered, the C-Class coupe will come standard in rear-wheel drive with the company’s 4Matic all-wheel drive available as an option. The more powerful C63 and C63 S coupe variants will also arrive in 2016, sporting a 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 with 469 hp and 503 hp, respectively.

The C-Class coupe will go on sale in 2016 as a 2017 model year in the U.S.
