With an all-new fortwo on the way, smart is sending off the current car with a limited edition model.

Called the Edition Flashlight, the limited edition fortwo features exterior and interior styling tweaks as well as unique option packaging. All of the Edition Flashlight cars will come with their body panels painted in either model-exclusive matt crystal white or the more common deep black.

Regardless of which color is chosen, the fortwo’s tridion safety cell and exterior mirrors will only come painted in lava orange. As well, the exterior of the Edition Flashlight will receive a black grille, black alloy wheels with lava orange hubs and other exterior tweaks.

Inside there is more lava orange as the stitching on the black leather seats, steering wheel and dashboard all use the bright contrasting color. There is also an orange stripe on the kneepad and we’d be re-missed if we didn’t mention the exclusive “edition flashlight” floor mats.

Mechanically the smart fortwo Edition Flashlight does not differ from regular models. That means it uses the same rear-mounted 1.0-liter three-cylinder engine producing 70 HP and 68 lb-ft. of torque paired to a single-clutch five-speed automatic transmission.

The smart fortwo Edition Flashlight will be going on sale worldwide shortly after its North American International Auto Show debut, which includes the North American market.
