The Lotus Elise is celebrating its 20th birthday in style.

To celebrate 20 years of the Elise, the British automaker is releasing a Lotus Elise 20th Anniversary Special Edition model, boasting a 1.8-liter supercharged engine and a weight of 2,015 lbs – 22 lbs less than the Lotus Elise S. As a result, it’ll go 0-62 mph in 4.6 seconds with a top speed of 145 mph.

Standard equipment on the special edition includes lightweight matte black wheels, lightweight center console and sport seats in leather or Alcantara. A sport mode is also included, increasing throttle response and altering the traction slip thresholds.

The Lotus Elise 20th Anniversary Special Edition will be available in four classic Elise colors: Blue, Green, Yellow and Silver. Contrasting whichever shade the buyer chooses are elements finished in matte black including the rear diffuser, wing mirrors, roll hoop cover and rear transom. The model will replace the Elise S Club Racer.

“It is sometimes hard to believe that the Elise has been around for 20 years,” said Jean-Marc Gales, Group Lotus CEO. “It was ground breaking when it was launched and continues to be the benchmark for handling and performance in its class. Over the years we have improved and refined the Elise but we have also ensured that we have retained the purity of the driving experience and for the Elise to remain as the sports car to which other marques aspire.”
